Cedar is decay, termite and Powderpost beetle resistant. This rack is designed for functionality and aesthetics by lake home owners. It not only cares for and organizes your boats, it can be matched to its surroundings being log construction. With finishing options you can match dock, house, etc… or let it turn silver/gray with no finish, or you can use your own finish if so desired. This rack holds the heaviest of canoes, Surfboards, kayaks and SUPS (Stand Up Paddle boards). Each boat can weigh up to 100 pounds. This rack has up to a 600 pound capacity. We have worked with logs for over 23 years crafting log homes, furniture and kayak racks. Each joint is glued and screwed for longevity. We use glued mortise-and-tenon joinery wherever possible. Hand made and finished by Log Artisans in Northern Wisconsin.

If you select to have your cedar kayak/canoe storage rack stained natural, we will apply one coat of SuperDeck Natural. This product is translucent and brings out the natural beauty of the grains while also giving them some extra moisture and UV protection. This stain product is created for a one-coat application, but through the years, touchups may be needed. Just visually inspect your kayak/canoe rack and make a determination if it is time for a touchup or recoats.

If your one that likes the distinctive look of dark wood, we’ve definitely got a finish perfect for you: SuperDeck Canyon Brown. This easy to find product is designed for a one coat application finish and is a finish our woodworking experts have used and loved for years. This finish is translucent, breathable and also offers moisture and UV protection. A visual inspection is all that is needed when questioning if touchups or a recoating would be beneficial.

This is simplicity at its finest. The beautiful Northern White Cedar is eye-catching even when unfinished and if no stain is added, there is no need for touchups. But be aware that the color will gray, due to the elements. So, if you elect to keep your cedar kayak/canoe rack unfinished the color will change and the light, the raw look will fade into gray.
If you purchase a kayak/canoe rack from us and are planning on finishing it yourself be sure to let the wood age a little before staining/painting/etc. It’s also best to use breathable finishes, whichever finish you choose be sure to follow the instructions given for that exact brand.

6 Place Kayak Rack Details
The 6 Place Kayak Rack is constructed from Northern White cedar which is rated best for weather resistance. Each rack has 4 5/8 inch post and feet and 3 in rails. Each rack is glued, bolted, and screwed with galvanized screws. Joinery, where arms meet posts, are 2-inch mortise and tenon giving full strength. Kayak Rack comes disassembled but is very simple to put together with the torque-bit found in the assembly kit and a cordless drill or the like.
Easy to lift kayak or canoe in and out. Locking a kayak is easy with a cable lock from a local kayak store. Durable kayak storage racks, can carry the heaviest of canoes, kayaks, and boat loads!
